The Mother Tongue Unit is responsible for the mother tongue education and study guidance of multilingual children in primary school/special primary school, as well as mother tongue support in preschool and preschool class. Östersund Municipality, Department of Children & Education, the Mother Tongue Unit is now seeking a Teacher in mother tongue and study guidance in mother tongue/mother tongue pedagogue F-9 for a fixed-term employment.

We are looking for teachers with the following languages:

  • Amharic/Oromo, 40 hours/week
  • Bilen, 4 hours/week
  • Fur, 4 hours/week
  • Georgian, 4 hours/week
  • Igbo, 4 hours/week
  • Latvian, 6 hours/week
  • Portuguese, 8 hours/week
  • Slovene, 6 hours/week
  • Czech, 4 hours/week

The work may be assigned to different workplaces in Östersund Municipality, which may require you to move during the workday.

The position is a fixed-term employment starting from February 1 to June 15.

The position cannot be performed remotely.

  • Planning and implementation of mother tongue lessons.
  • Grading.

Qualifications
We primarily seek qualified teachers. Your documented knowledge of the Swedish language should be at least at the basic Swedish level or equivalent to ongoing studies in upper secondary Swedish. For the position as a teacher with a focus on mother tongue and study guidance in the mother tongue, a Swedish teacher's degree is required. Your skills in the requested language must be at a native level. Schooling in both your home country and Sweden is an advantage.
